The U.S. Air Force has cleared its first Collaborative Combat Aircraft to enter production.

During a test last year, the company's projectile hit targets more than 74 miles away after being fired from an M777 howitzer.

The winged, precision-guided artillery round is maneuverable while in flight and can conduct controlled descents to strike static and moving targets.

General Atomics has tested a prototype of the short-takeoff-and-landing Gray Eagle, dubbed Mojave, multiple times over the last two years.
